Francois Rabelais said hours were made for man, not man for hours.

And I have to say, that the hours I've spent at Little Shepherd Cuisine, whether it was running my European pastry business, or renovating the historic barn in which this business was housed, have been some of the most joyful times I've ever experienced.

From the whole hearted support of nearby Shepherdstown, the people I've met from all over the world, the creative satisfaction I felt in transforming a building - that seemed to transform me as much as I transformed it  - to little things, like getting myself covered in flour simply doing what I love, it's been great.

That's why it's with mixed emotions I am embracing a wonderful new opportunity that has come my way.

I know the "magical atmosphere" and "good feeling" that my clients have always commented on when dining in this place, will somehow always stay attached to this location, as if it is not just a very old and beautiful chestnut barn, but a living thing that moves and grows with the community.

Who knows, perhaps this barn was meant to house your dream next.

And because I will never forget those I love or stop doing what I love, please kindly remember me and my products at, or give me a call at 304 886 7558. My realtor is 4 State Real Estate's amazing Tara Sanders Lowe, who can be reached directly at, or 304 283 8300.

Tradition means giving votes to the most obscure of all classes, our ancestors. It is the democracy of the dead. Tradition refuses to submit to that arrogant oligarchy who merely happen to be walking around.
